From the time I can remember I have always played sports; basketball, soccer, running, etc. I love the training, commitment, and being apart of a team. I ended up fulfilling my dreams and played soccer in college. Fast forward, got married, had baby #1, I was looking for something to ease my body back into shape. I had this ridiculous idea of a goal to run a half marathon (I was a runner but never ran longer than 5 miles). The training of running and lifting weights (which is all I knew) was proven to be very hard on my body and joints. I knew I needed to try something different input yoga here! I fell in love. Not only did I love the fitness, challenge, lengthening and strengthening of the body but incorporation of mind and body as a whole. After 5 half marathons, baby #2, and 5 years later, I knew I wanted more! I wanted to become a teacher but I wasn’t sure how I could with 2 young kids and a full time job. On the brighter side of the COVID, Yoga Alliance was allowing yoga schools to provide training virtually. I enrolled in Heartwood Yoga Institute located in FL in Sept. 2020. I completed the training 3 very thorough and challenging months later and received my certification Dec. 2020. I am beyond excited and appreciative to be teaching at Phoenix Fitness and Yoga. I can’t wait to share with you my love and passion of yoga.
